Lake Ridge Village of Detroit was founded by Pastor Eddie Williams and First Lady, Laverne Williams (his wife.) Eddie Williams background is primarily in construction and contracting prior to his receiving the call and becoming a Minister. His church is The Church of God In Christ. A Detroit Police Department Chaplain, he is committed to human services and helping the less fortunate and this has been his mission for the past ten years. Laverne Williams supports Pastor Williams in his efforts and also provides service to Lake Ridge Village and the church by managing operations and coordinating community events.
Lake Ridge Village is Non-Profit Organization that provides recovery services for consumers referred by the Detroit-Wayne Community Mental Health Authority. Lake Ridge Village has a program that feeds the needy, hungry and homeless bi-weekly in partnership with Forgotten Harvest. Over 200 families and individuals benefit from this program and the ministry. Additional programs include Behavioral Health, Opioid Treatment, Child and Youth Services and Family Services. Employment and Community services are offered in conjunction with the support of JFS (Jewish Family Services) which provides Lake Ridge with a job readiness program and support services. Lake Ridge Villages has strong support ties to the City of Detroit and Mayor’s office as well as a partnership with Pilgrim Village, a local housing and community action group.
Pastor Williams has committed his life to creating a human services and housing in the 3 square blocks surrounding Lake Ridge Village. Over the past few years, Lake Ridge has purchased and owns 17 homes in the area. With continuous fund raising efforts, Lake Ridge is taking steps to renovate the homes and create living opportunities for women and children, veterans and those competing the programs at Lake Ridge. Prior to purchasing the Lake Ridge building the area was full of crime, drugs and prostitution, which Pastor Williams vowed to clean up and has done a tremendous effort with this initiative.
Lake Ridge Village was recently awarded CARF Accreditation by The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Lake Ridge Village will be opening an Outpatient Mental Health Clinic and Early Childhood Development Center as part of their 3 Year Strategic Plan. Lake Ridge is in the process of implementing a Children’s Financial Literacy Program for the Summer of 2016. Pastor Williams and Lake Ridge are eager to continue its efforts to grow and fill the 60 bed facility, currently staffed with a professional group committed to human services and make a difference in the lives of those who are served.
Peer Support Specialist
Jerome has been a part of the LakeRidge Team for the past 7 years. He is instrumental in assisting clients and helping then through the process of change.
Al is responsible for the building and maintenance and operations for LakeRidge Village. Al has been a part of the team for 8 years. A Graduate of the LakeRidge Village Recovery Program.
Gloria is in charge of the LakeRidge Village Housekeeping. Responsible for the upkeep and presentation of the building, Ms. Harris has been a member of LakeRidge Village for 8 years and is a Graduate of the Recovery Program.
Facility Operations Coordinator
Anthony has been with LakeRidge Village for 9 years and is responsible for supervising members of the team operations.
Ray has been with LakeRidge Village for 9 years and manages the Maintenance Operations of the Center. Ray is a Graduate of the LakeRidge Village Recovery Program.
Kim has been with LakeRdige Village for 9 years. Kim works with Pastor Eddie Williams directly, manages intake and interfaces with the Wayne County Authority.
Gregory is responsible for resident treatment care while in the program. Gregory has been a team member for over 3 years.
